Mr Ong Teong Pin, FSIP

Mr Ong Teong Pin was a key figure in urban planning and design during the formative years of Singapore's rapid transformation from third world to first. He worked in the Planning Department from 1966 to 1973 and was involved in a range of pioneering planning work, including the formulation of planning standards and guidelines for new forms of landmark developments such as Signature Park Condominium, Aspen Height Condominium, Trellis Towers Condominium, Chestnut Garden Housing Estate, Heeton Park Housing Estate, Balestier Plaza, Orchid Inn Hotel and Pantech Industrial Complext.
Mr Ong was one of the founders of the ASEAN Association for Planning and Housing (AAPH) in 1985, a platform to exchange ideas and experiences within Southeast Asian countries. Through AAPH, Mr Ong had shared Singapore's experience in housing with government officials, planning consultants and private developers from other countries.
