Tan Cheng Siong is an architect and planner and founder of the Archurban Group. He has 40 years of experience in urban planning, architecture and design. He designed Singapore’s first super high-rise apartment, the iconic Pearl Bank and Singapore’s first condominium, Pandan Valley. He introduced the concept of condominium housing into China in the mid-90s and continues to design pioneering landmarks. Mr Tan has been an advisor to the Shenzhen Planning Committee since 1986. He is also an Adjunct Professor and External Examiner for Architecture, National University of Singapore (NUS). In 2012, Mr Tan received the President’s Design Award for his exceptional achievements. Other honours include NUS Distinguished Alumni Award 1999 and the SIA Gold Medal 2013.
